George Capaccio, Arlington resident and member of Arlington/Lexington UJP, began the Iraq Family Relief Fund in 1998 shortly after his fourth trip to Iraq. He had originally gone there to witness the effects of US-enforced economic sanctions on the people of Iraq. In the course of theses visits, George formed
close ties with a group of related families in Baghdad. The Iraq Family Relief Fund is a person-to-person effort to help these families afford suchbasics as food, clothing, and medicines while living under conditions of war and the ongoing U.S. occupation.

George relies entirely on donations.  Arlington/Lexington UJP is sponsoring this community event to assist George with his humanitarian relief effort.

Contributions go directly to the families and are not tax-deductible.
